There’s really something for every kind of beer drinker at the Spar Bierfest. A comprehensive list of prices and options can be found here.

The annual Spar Bierfest is considered one of the largest in South Africa

The event is modelled on Germany’s Oktoberfest, but of course, it has its proudly South African twist. The festival is hosted in an authentic Bavarian bier hall that seats 2500 people. Lovely ladies, you may call them “fräuleins” if you can pronounce it, serve up frothy beers and delectable food. Bier lovers attending the festival are encouraged to brush up on their German, know their beers, come armed with a fun attitude and of course, dress up if they dare.

If you haven’t searched for cheap domestic flights to Cape Town for the Spar Bierfest yet, now is an excellent time!

The Second Round’s on the Cape Town Festival of Beer!

As the year draws to a close, the thought of the Cape Town Festival of Beer could be enticing. This is one for the books and is an extremely popular event for locals in the city as well as visitors from all over the country.

The festival returns for its 8th year in 2018 and will be hosted at the Hamilton Rugby Club in Greenpoint, which is right next to the V&A Waterfront. More than 200 beers will be featured, of which equal amounts are international and local brews. You will even find some craft beers available, for those who love a good craft. On arrival at the festival you will receive your own “Beer Passport”. You can collect stamps as you go and sample all beers free!

Although the event is about all things beer with over 60 local and international breweries in attendance, there’s a lot more to be enjoyed over the festival weekend. Expect music, live rugby on the big screens, beer and food pairing experiences, and a whole lot of fun and laughter!
