Find the cheapest flights from 1000s of airlines and travel agents
While telling your friends and family you’re catching the Gravy Plane or Planey McPlaneface is sure to make them laugh, Lift has a more sophisticated ring to it. Operated by the founder of Kulula Airlines, Gidon Novick, and Global Aviation, this airline promises Mzansi more ways to visit family, head to the sea, or travel for business.
Eight different South Africans submitted the name ‘Lift’. And so, the year of free flights was divided between the winners and they now have their hands on plenty of airline tickets.
But deciding on the name was only the beginning. Behind the scenes, the Lift team has been making sure the airline is ready to take to the skies just in time for Christmas. Plus, their small fleet size promises a level of efficiency that the larger airlines can’t afford to give.
Lift aims to be a flexible airline that operates in a similar fashion to Uber, with flight schedules being determined by demand and popularity.
At the moment there isn’t much information available on all that Lift will offer Mzansi, including flight times, routes and baggage. But as soon as new information lands, we’ll add it to this page.
