Fastjet Baggage Allowance
In order to keep airfares as low as possible, hold baggage is not included in the cost of your Fasjet online ticket booking. Passengers may certainly take hold baggage for an additional fee and are advised to pre-book before departure. Importantly, pre-booked hold baggage costs half the price or even less than if paid for at the airport.
2 bags weighing no more than 20kg each with additional charges incurred for weights exceeding the allowed kg limit. No single item may weigh more than 32kg for reasons of safety. No refunds or partial payments will be made for bags weighing less than the weight purchased.
Music and sports equipment are not considered or acceptable as normal baggage and the applicable charges must be paid.
Passengers flying from Mwanza are permitted a bucket of fish as hold baggage with restrictions being the same as for normal hold baggage. The bucket of fish must be shrink wrapped at the airport and two buckets may be taken if shrink wrapped together and not weighing more than 20kg in total.
Passengers are permitted free of charge one item of hand baggage with maximum dimensions not exceeding 56x45x25cm. Hand baggage has no weight restriction and it must be placed and removed from the overhead locker by the passenger without any assistance.
Dimensions exceeding the stipulated dimensions will be checked in as hold baggage and charged for, at airport prices.
Infants not travelling in their own seat are not entitled to the hand baggage allowance.
Fastjet Flights to and from South Africa
Passengers on these flights have a 7kg hand baggage allowance with dimensions not exceeding 56x36x23, in compliance with South African Civil Aviation requirements.

Fastjet has a total of six ‘Airbus A319s’ with four currently in operation that comprise one A319-111, two A319-131s and one A319-112 with ages from 9.8 to 12.4 years with the latter aircraft delivered in December 2015.
Check-In – O.R Tambo
Passengers landing or departing from O.R. Tambo are advised that the Dept. of Home Affairs has changed to the Biometric system that may cause delays for inbound and outbound international flights with processing at immigration check-points.
Due to this Fastjet have extended check-in times for departures from O.R. Tambo that are now open at check-in desks 3 hours before scheduled departures affording passengers an additional hour for check-in and more time for immigration processing.
Fastjet is unfortunately not equipped to fly animals or guide-dogs on its flights and recommends passengers use ‘BidAir Cargo’ for the safe transportation of their animals.
Full in-flight menus are served on board all domestic and international flights including hot, cold and alcoholic beverages. In addition the airline provides a selection of sweet and savoury snacks. The cost of meals and snacks is not included in your low-cost airfare.

Fastjet Refunds – Tickets
Fastjet tickets are non-refundable but can be amended for an alternative flight at the same price or higher with payment made for a ‘change fee’ and the different in airfare.
Should Fastjet fail to provide carriage, as per their Terms and Conditions, a refund of the fare or an applicable portion will be made in accordance with article 11.
If Fastjet have cancelled a flight or not landed at your destination, under the ‘Conditions of Carriage’, refunds shall be:
· An amount equal to the fare paid, if no portion of the ticket has been used.
· If a portion of the ticket has been utilised, the refund won’t be less than the difference between the fare paid and the applicable fare for travel between points for which the ticket has been utilised.
Pre-booked Seating Refund
Should a flight be cancelled by Fastjet, the passenger will receive a full refund of the charges paid or may opt to transfer their seat.
Mobile Money Refund
Fastjet will pay a portion or a full refund in the event of a disruption.
