Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport also known as KMI Airport is situated in the Nelspruit region (Mbombela) and is 17.6km from the centre of Nelspruit and just a 30 minute drive to the Kruger National Park, via Numbi Gate. From the time of the airports inception in 2002 it has managed more than 2.8 million passengers and serves approximately 260,000 passengers annually. Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport Parking
Parking is in close proximity to the terminal building with disabled facilities near the airports main walkway. The airport affords shaded short and long term car parking facilities where vehicles are safe with security patrolling the entire area 24/7 including areas being controlled with entry and exit booms and interlocking barriers. Passengers with trailers must park their trailer in a separate bay and advise the airport authorities who will arrange a fee for only one parking bay. Parking operates on a first-come-first-served basis and should the long term facility be full, short term parking rates will apply.
Machines for payment are situated inside the terminal building at the main entrance.
Keep your ticket safe as a lost parking ticket incurs a fine of R100 per day.
Passengers requiring further assistance can contact the information desk located at the main entrance of the terminal building.
Drop & Go:
KMIs Drop and Go facility provides a fast drop off and collection facility, conveniently located alongside the terminal building with provision for passengers using wheelchairs. Friendly porters are available to assist passengers with luggage and a warm welcome at the entrance of the terminal building.
Travel Tips
To ensure you have an enjoyable flight and experience, take note of the following:
- Have your travel documents ready and in order.
- Keep the weight and size of your carry-on and checked-in baggage within your airlines restrictions.
- Place all items from your pockets into trays provided and remove your coat/jacket that is separately scanned as well as laptops and other electrical devices.
- Passengers may be requested to remove their belt and shoes.
- Passengers carrying liquids that include perfumes, cosmetics and toiletries must ensure theyre in containers of no more than 100ml and packed in re-sealable, transparent plastic bags. A maximum of ten items per bag is permitted and these bags should be kept separate from carry-on luggage and immediately handed to security staff.
- Ensure your checked-in luggage is easily recognisable and all old tags have been removed.
