These are exciting times for South Africa with the launching of the latest affordable new airline ‘Fly Blue Crane’. In response to market needs from global travellers, the airline offers a fresh new style in air travel and with premium service. Flying under the wings of the successful ‘Blu Crane Air’ charter company, ‘Fly Blue Crane’ starts off with three routes and opens for bookings tonight, 25th August from 19h00!

Based in Johannesburg, the airline’s inaugural flights will take off from ‘OR Tambo’ to Nelspruit, Bloemfontein and Kimberley on 1st September. Passengers can look forward to affordable timeous travel, complimentary quality meals and easy check-in.
The airline will operate an ‘Embraer Regional Jet 145’, a 50-seater with a single class formation during its launch phase.

Loaded with air travel experience, former CEO to ‘SAA’ and ‘SA Express’, CEO Siza Mzimela stated, “Fly Blue Crane has anticipated and is positioned to deliver on what customers want – the enhanced convenience of frequent flights through high on-time performance, commitment to consistent service excellence, advanced online technologies that will make the booking and travel process fuss-free, and of course highly competitive fares”. Joining Siza Mzimela with added experience, are two former ‘SAA’ executives, Theunis Potgieter and Jerome Simelane who together guarantee continued success of this new airline.

The Johannesburg/Bloemfontein route offers five daily flights a day during the week with two on Saturdays and three on Sundays while the Johannesburg/Nelspruit route starts off with two daily flights during the week with one flight on Saturdays and Sundays. The Johannesburg/Kimberley will have three daily flights a week with one flight on Saturdays and two on Sundays.
